The next adventure

Two sisters -- you know them, They're Zoe and Prue, Also known as the Biggies Or Lady and Lou--

Said 'It's time for adventure' With big toothy grins, 'Time to get on our bikes And chalk up a few wins.'

'What should we do? Where should we go?'

'Let's ride the Gibb River Road With Mama and Papa in tow!'

'That sounds like a challenge A bright chance to learn How to clear the ol noggins And feel a deep gluteal burn!'

'When should we go? Hit the ole frog and toad?'

'Shall we make it in May When they've graded the road?'

A decision was made A firm accord struck So Biggie whipped up a spreadsheet And the courage was plucked.

The Ma and the Pa Were d'rectly on board Once again proving why they Take out the Best Oldies award.

Ma said, so chirpy, 'I'll cook up the dins!'

And Dad said 'I'll pack the esky, Makes sure there's cold tins!'

With little further to do But train their legs strong The sisters checked out the map And the road: 850 klix long!

But they're not too worried For a rhythm they'll find Down red dusty tracks And over stony ridge climbs.

But this ride ain't simply For the adventure and thrills But to also raise monies For literacy skills.

We're asking our mates To throw in some cash For the Indigenous Literacy Foundation And the dreams that they hatch.

A dollar or two Is all that we ask So we can all chip in For the Close the Gap task.
